Reader's note

Two Years Before the Mast is a memoir by the American author Richard Henry Dana that was published in 1840. It was written after a two year sea voyage from Boston to California on a merchant ship starting in 1834. It is a riveting story of adventure and one of the most eloquent, insightful accounts we have of life at sea in the early nineteenth century. A wonderful addition to any Penguin book collection that would add a pop of pink to any bookshelf.
