Reader's note

This delightful edition of The Plain Man’s Guide to Wine by Raymond Postgate is the third impression revised by Postgate. He writes that he ‘made some additional minor changes. I wrote accounts of wines, such as the Portugese and Yugoslav table wines, which were of small importance when the first edition was written, and provided personal lists of the cheaper clarets and of Rhenish.’ The book remains, however, essentially the same - a plain guide for the would-be wine drinker who comes fresh to the subject, not a reference work for the expert.
