Reader's note

Valuable as are many books on agricultural chemistry the majority of them appear to be written for students who already possess some knowledge on the subjects treated, or are, at least, acquainted with meaning and significance of the technical terms employed. There is, however, another class- a great and growing community- who are engaged in the pursuit of gardening, either as amateurs or professionals and especially probationers, who labour diligently on what is known as the rule of thumb method. This scientific book explains the processes and conditions plants need to grow using the chemistry involved, such as the Ph balances required. This book is a rare find and it truly a remarkable read. This would suit anyone with a passion for gardening or science.
