Reader's note

A wonderful copy of The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath in a vintage paperback. Plath’s classic novel is the story of Esther Greenwood and how the world treats her and how she reacts back. It follows her through a summer job in New York and her schooling in New England. Following a suicide attempt she is taken to different asylums where her treatments vary wildly and is then thrown back out into the world. Those who have read her poetry will recognise the bitter and torn tone that pulls no punches.
