This wonderful decorative, autographed edition of Hot Water was written by P.G.Wodehouse, an English author and one of the most widely read humourists of the 20th century. He wrote over seventy novels, three autobiographies and forty-two plays during his active years between 1902 and 1961. Hot Water tells the hilarious story of J. Wellington Gedge, an American born in California who finds himself at the French seaside Château Blissac, much to his dismay. His wife is keen for him to become the American Ambassador to France, an idea which appals Mr Gedge. Two American criminals are residing at a hotel nearby, Gordon "Oily" Carlisle and safe-blower "Soup" Slattery. In a turn of events, Soup tries to rob Mr Gedge, but Gedge has no money and instead they bond over their losses in the stock market crash. Gedge mentions that he was rich when he married and gave his wife sixty thousand dollars' worth of jewels, which are usually kept in a safe. Soup plans to rob the safe, with Oily acting as the inside man…
