Reader's note

A wonderful copy of Three Novels by J.B. Priestley collected in a single hardcover volume. This book contains three very different novels of Priestley’s, written across the breadth of his career. Angel Pavement is a look at 1920s London, with its high levels of unemployment and economic insecurity and the Great Depression looming. Bright Day follows screenwriter Gregory Dawson after the end of the Second World War as he recalls, with nostalgia, life in Northern England before the First World War. Sir Michael and Sir George is a humorous satire featuring a fierce competition between two Arts Councils. This book is a must for those wanting a broad view of J. B. Priestley’s writings.
