Reader's note

The title of 'Coming Down the Wye' is self explanitory. All we need to say about this book is that it is the fruit of two years close study, observation, and journeying, during many months of which, in high summer and bleak mid-winter, the author lived alone in a semi-derelict mountain cottage at the source of the Wye - a scene of natural beauty that surpasses anything that the more placid Thames can offer. 'Coming Down the Wye' is concerned with a superb subject - possibly the most beautiful, romantic and legend haunted river in England or Wales. Fully illustrated with the author's woodcuts, this excellent book describes a landscape like no other! A great addition to any home library!
