Reader's note

This charming book will look wonderful on any bookshelf! Read Charles Dickens as you've never read him before with this abridged edition of 'A Tale of Two Cities' aimed at younger readers. Rather than the introduction that the original is so famous for, this book begins as follows 'On a Friday night late in November, in the year 1775 when George the Third was king, the Dover mail was lumbering up Shooter's Hill; and plodding up the mire by the side of the coach, were the three passengers. All three were wrapped to the cheek-bones and over the ears, and wore jack boots; and-as in those days anybody on the road might be highwaymen - all three were very suspicious of each other.' much easier for the younger ones to understand! Add this book to a vintage nursery library today!
