Reader's note

To begin with the streets of London are not paved with gold; but i need not have said that, for nowadays the very youngest child knows it. The children's book of London is written by G.E. Mitton and contains eight wonderful full page illustrations in colour. The stories of London are educational and filled with stories of London's great history. As this book was published in 1928 the history contain is all pre 1920s but it still remains fascinating. The easy to read lay out means children can discover for themselves, learning all about our monarchs and question if Lady Jane Grey was ever truly a queen, they can find out how the natural history museum came to be and if the tower of London is as scary as they say. This unique vintage childrens book is packed with informative stories but would also suit an adult with an interest in London or just looking for a bit of nostalgia.
