'Birds have been a big influence in our lives, and over the years we have spent most of our time with them, one way or another. We have now sen almost ever Australian bird, have painted every species at least once and have photographed more than half of them in the field. In this book we have tried to include representatives of every family found in Australia and have illustrated them with photographs from our collection, with a few exceptions.'
